As the New Year begins, I've given my standard list of resolutions a makeover, focusing on home and design related projects I can tackle while investigating great products, shops and companies for this site. The list was at first rather lengthy, but I've paired it down to the 5 tasks I believe have the potential to be the most interesting and rewarding.
For once, a list of resolutions I will truly enjoy completing:
1. Paint the pair of matching antique etageres my friends and I found for sale by two different dealers (who had painted them two different colors), in one antiques shop, much to the surprise of the shop owner who hadn't realized she had a matching set in her midst.2. Sew drapes and coordinating throw pillows for my parents' newly redecorated bedroom.
3. Craft a new, space-saving headboard out of old, repurposed goods -- perhaps a battered door or rickety picket fence.
4. Create a travel wall filled with personal photos of my favorite places far and near.
5. Spend the summer investigating seaside towns, hunting down the best in coastal design.
Check back for updates throughout the year to see how I'm progressing with these projects and feel free to share your own design-related resolutions. They may just inspire future stories for the site.
Happy New Year!
