Organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the International GOOD DESIGN Awards are widely considered the most prestigious global awards for new product design and graphics.
The awards were conceived and trademarked in Chicago in 1950 by architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. and cover new consumer products designed and manufactured in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America.
Among the awards are many home furnishings products and I've compiled those lists for you here. Some of the products are already featured here on the Home Furnishings site but all are worth your attention.
Entries are submitted annually by industrial design and graphic design firms working for Fortune 500 companies. Learn more about the history of the awards and find out how to submit to next year's competition on the competition's website.
