The New York School of Interior Design focuses on the designers of the future and honors those whose work we still admire today with two upcoming events.
First, the school will give special attention to its BFA candidates with a Thesis Project exhibition that opens this Thursday, Jan. 24. The exhibition features the work of 15 NYSID BFA candidates who completed their thesis projects in Dec. 2012. The exhibition, on view through Feb. 22, will be held at the NYSID Gallery, 161 East 69th St., NYC.
Next, the school looks to the past via the new book Ezra Stoller: Photographer. The Jan. 30 lecture features co-authors Erica Stoller and Akiko Busch and focuses on the ways in which a great photographer can make beautiful spaces look even more so. The authors will share published and unpublished photos from architectural photographer Ezra Stoller's career, including Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Mies van der Rohe's Seagram Building.
The lecture will be held at 6 p.m., at the NYSID Auditorium, 170 East 70th St., NYC. Advance tickets are available online or by calling 212.472.1500, x405.
