The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market seems to spread its wings successfully further with each market. The organizers have branched into new product categories and established the market as a force on the crowded trade show calendar.
In 2011, the market welcomed Birding & Backyard Nature, which includes everything from bird feeders and houses to butterfly houses and bird-themed giftware and decorative accessories, as well as Global Designs, a collection the organizers refer to as “people positive.” Products here include culturally-diverse artisan, handmade crafts from around the world represented by companies who assist in the economic and environmental sustainability of the areas where the products are made.
No need to worry though, additions to the show’s agenda have not replaced any of the categories you’ve come to expect here. Returning market after market are an assortment of companies and goods to fill the show's established categories including Home Accents & Gift; Resort, Living & Entertaining; and Gourmet/Housewares.
Also added to the assortnment in 2011 was a juried lifestyle collection of design-driven home furnishings and décor called HD Home. Standing for High Design Home, the dedicated space was the evolution of the High Design section that previously existed within the Market Temporaries area of the show.
Eight companies were hand-selected to participate in the inaugural presentation of HD Home. Each company had approximately 900 sq. ft of space in which to stage the products that earned it the HD honor.
